Built to be trusted with your photos

No sign-up, no watermark, no waiting on a server queue somewhere. Just a tool that does one job well.

Private by design

Your image is processed with your browser's own canvas engine. It never touches a server, so there's nothing to leak.

Genuinely fast

Most photos resize in under two seconds because the work happens on your own device, not a shared server.

Hits your target size

Tell it 50 KB and it searches for the highest quality that still fits under that number, instead of a rough guess.

Dimensions, your way

Switch to exact pixel width and height whenever it's the crop size that matters more than the file size.

How it actually works

Three steps, no tutorial required.

01

Drop in your photo

Drag a file onto the page or click to browse. It loads straight into your browser's memory, nothing more.

02

Choose size or dimensions

Pick a target file size like 50 KB, or set exact width and height if that's what you actually need.

03

Download the result

ImgReduce finds the best quality/size balance and hands you a downloadable file in seconds.

Questions people actually ask

Does ImgReduce upload my photos anywhere?

No. The resizing happens using your browser's built-in canvas, entirely on your own device. We never receive a copy of the file — there's no upload step at all, which is also why it's fast.

Can I really hit an exact size like 50 KB?

You can get at or under your target. ImgReduce tests different quality levels until it finds the highest one that still fits your limit, and if quality alone can't get there, it carefully scales dimensions down too.

Which format should I pick?

JPEG is the safest default for photos and gives the smallest files. WebP usually compresses a little better and is supported almost everywhere now. Use PNG only when you need transparency or perfectly lossless output.

Is there a file size or image limit?

Practically speaking you're limited by your device's memory, not by us. Very large photos (30+ megapixels) may take a couple of extra seconds — that's normal.

Is ImgReduce free?

Yes, completely. There's no account, no watermark, and no limit on how many images you reduce.

Got a photo that's too big right now?

Scroll up, drop it in, and it'll be a fraction of the size in a couple of seconds.
